Yeap, Ee Ee is ready to go to school, well pre-school to be precise. Mommy took this photo of Ee Ee, yesterday, wearing the pre-school uniform and carry a back pack with both hands holding onto lunch. You could see Ee Ee is very happy that Mommy is sending her to pre-school nearby Ah Mah’s house.

Looking at this photo of Ee Ee, I realize that she is growing up fast, pretty fast I must say.

Subject: 80% Malaysians studying law in UK

UK Immigration Officer: Purpose of your visit please?

Visitor: I’m here to study law, sir.

Officer: You know, you must have a lot of lawyers in Malaysia.

Visitor: Why do you say that?

Officer: Well, i’ve been here for a good twenty years, and I’d say 80%
of Malaysians I see here say they’re here to read law.

Visitor: Oh, really? That’s really something i never knew. Hard to
believe in fact.

Officer: Just you watch, then. You just stand here until the next
Malaysian comes along, and I’ll bet he’s here to read law.

*Visitor waits for 5 mins, Ah Chong from Malaysia comes to immigration counter*

Officer: Mr. Ah Chong, purpose of visit?

Ah Chong:Study lorr…………………

My humble mode of private transport April 12, 2007

Yeap, this is my humble ride, a Proton Savvy, which I bought it in August 05.

When it was first launched back in mid 2005, it drew a lot of negative comments, from it’s exterior design to it’s Renault engine. I first took notice of it, when I saw the spy pictures of it from www.carspyshots.net.

At that time, I thought it was the most horrible looking piece of junk I’ve ever seen in my entire life. I mean, what was the designers in Proton thinking when they designed it. It was so ugly that I even had the even took the time to see it in the flesh from a nearby EON Showroom in Kajang. That’s when I said to myself, “Hmmm…..not that bad looking lah….can do lah…something different lah…..may consider it lah…” I then ask the salesman whether I can test drive it, and he politely said NO for some reason he did not want to reveal to me. I walked off and a week later, managed to test drive the Savvy from another Proton showroom in Shah Alam and I was impressed. The car had a continental feel to it. It cornered well with some noticeable body roll. The suspension managed to soak up the bumps and potholes. So a week later, I traded in my Proton Iswara (man, I loved that car) for the Proton Savvy from another Proton dealer because he managed to get a higher trade in value for the Iswara.

45580kms later, I still enjoy every moment driving the Savvy. Yeah…it has it’s niggling quality problems, I mean, this a Proton we’re talking about. But otherwise, I’ve never had so much fun in my life driving a small compact hatchback.

Number of modifications done to the Savvy were limited to only two. Downgraded the tyres and rims combo from 175/50/R15 to 185/60/R13. Yeah…sounds strange huh? Normally people would upgrade their rims and tyres to a bigger size, but a couple of Savvy owners including myself have decided to downgrade the rims and tyre size for a more comfortable ride without sacrificing grip.

Changed the standard muffler to an R3 muffler and this has help in terms of torque. It has a discreet low sounding growl to it. Of course the downside to this is higher fuel consumption, but, hey, who cares.

At RM42,888 (in 2005), one might say it’s quite expensive for a 1.1litre compact hatchback and one might be true. But you know new cars in Malaysia are outrageously expensive, among other things.

For the time being, I am happy with the Savvy until of course something better comes along, like winning the lottery so that I can buy the Skoda Octavia 2.0FSi Combi.

Papa, I want a house April 11, 2007

That’s what my daughter, Ee Ee, said to me a few days ago. She and her group of friends had been deliberating that a property, be it a house, a condominium, an apartment or even a shop-house is a worthwhile, long term investment. At first, I was like, whoa, 4 year olds can even discuss about owning a property for investment purposes. I was shocked, I was taken aback, I was dumbfounded. But in truth, owning a property does make a good investment, depending on the location of the property of course.

And so after countless badgering from Ee Ee, I finally caved in and went shopping for a fully furnished double storey house. At first, I thought that it would take at least 3 months to look for the perfectly fully furnished double storey house specifically located in Kajang. Surprisingly, the search only took one day in which I duly signed the sale and purchase agreement and paid the full amount. Yes, it was that cheap.

Obviously Ee Ee was extremely happy that I bought a house for her and now she can show it off to her friends. More importantly, she now owns a fully furnished, double storey house.

Sibling Rivalry April 1, 2007

You know when Wei Han was born, I was scared that Ee Ee would get jealous and beat the heck out of him because of sibling rivalry. So far Ee Ee has not shown any symptoms of jealousy and I hope that it remains that way. But you know, one can never predict what’s gonna happen in the future but at the moment I am happy and relieved that Ee Ee has shown so much love to little brother, Wei Han. She evens helps mommy to change diapers and calms Wei Han down when he cries. So good of her to do that at such a young age (3+ years old)
